Hi everyone!
The FAQ is now available and it includes illustrated guides for various things related to your account, characters, signatures, Magelo Sync and other features on our website.
The Help section contain links to the most popular parts in the FAQ as well as links to the most popular topics in the Support forums so you can quickly access discussions regarding common issues.
New users will be able to follow step-by-step the illustrated instructions to get started easily. Experienced users may still find new interesting guide as we will keep the FAQ up to date as more features roll out.

Magelo patched for World of Warcraft: Echoes of Doom

Damn I can't say this patch has been a painless one, it took almost 8 hours to complete the upgrade on our side... Echoes of Doom, ya that sounds right now 
So sorry guys for the downtime but the good news is that the website and Magelo Sync are working, there are still little glitches here and there but we will hunt them down very soon. We are also pleased to introduce our comment system to let you review and post feedback on pretty much everything we have in our database, so don't be shy, share your thoughts !
On Magelo Sync side, we also have a new feature – Auto-Sync !
This feature is toggled 'Off' by default. When activated, this new feature will automatically Sync your character upon log-in and when you log-off.

World of Warcraft: Echoes of Doom patch and downtime

Hi, everyone.
As we all know, World of Warcraft has just released patch 3.0.2: Echoes of Doom. This patch includes a lot of changes. Due to the huge changes we may need to make with our system to accomodate the patch, it may take some time before Magelo Sync will be able to work properly with World of Warcraft again so we may expect a few days of downtime.
Enjoy your adventures in Azeroth and exploring the new features, we'll make an announcement again as soon as our team is ready with the patch!

Magelo Patch and bug fixes

Hello folks!
As usual, the Magelo team constantly strives to offer the best to our community and we've patched Magelo today to fix a few things. Below is a list of them:
- Profile: +Healing and Spell Damage are now affected by talents
- Database: “Whoops” error for Latest 100 items fixed
- Signature: Resilience in the signature now has the same value as the resilience as shown in the profile
- Guild: Average Item Level will now ignore shirts and tabards
- Website: The website should be really faster now (we added a lot of caching on "heavy" pages)

Signature update: new stats, custom background and more!

Thanks to everyone's feedback and suggestions following our last update, we've fixed some bugs and added new stuff!
Signature
- New stats added to the Signature display
- Signature code generator has been modified to make links usable with most forums
- You can now provide your own Signature background image. Download our background template to help you create yours!
- The Signatures will now auto-update when characters are synced
- Statistic abbreviations have been shortened to fit into the signatures
Profile
2 new background images are available in the library to custom your character profile: one for the Horde and one for the Alliance.
Miscellaneous
- Guild roster page should load faster now
- Your character portrait will now be correctly auto-updated when you sync
We understand some users have problems with inaccurate character stats and 3D models. We're still working to correct them and provide more features along the way. If you have any suggestions that can help us detect and correct them, please let us know in our forum! |

Community Manager Introduction - Erycil

Hello all!
This is Erycil, the new Community Manager saying hi.
I've joined the Magelo team around the end of July motivated by my passion for games. 
My first multiplayer RPG was Diablo2, which I started in 2001. I moved on to Ragnarok Online for a few years and then started playing World of Warcraft in 2006 (still addicted) and began EverQuest recently.
As an avid gamer, I hope to bring a fresh perspective to the Magelo community and keep the communication lines open between everyone and the team.
My main tasks will be to improve our communication with everyone and to help you with our features.
Of course, I will always be available to answer to your questions. Don’t hesitate to share also with us your suggestions. Your ideas and feedbacks are always welcome as our goal is to bring you the best service we can!

New Signature feature and website speed improvement

We are proud today to offer our new Signature feature! We also pushed live some speed improvement and fixed few bugs.
Dynamic Signature
Link your character profile wherever you want using your own dynamic signature!
- The signature will be created and updated automatically when you sync your character.
- The signature will show your character's level, server, class, race, guild rank, guild name, talent point and tradeskills. Five statistics will also be displayed in a row.
- The signature is customizable as your profile!
- You can choose a background image and a color theme. Browse our gallery, you can even match the background image and the color theme of your profile!
- You can also choose the 5 statistics. Show off your critical rating, your spell critical rating and other advanced stats in the signature!
- Finally you can choose the font and the color of the font.
- The character thumbnail portrait in your signature is automatically generated when you Sync your character.
- Clicking on the signature will open the character’s profile.
- The signature is smart – anytime you update your profile, the statistics change (if any) will be immediately reflected in your signatures, wherever they have been posted.
- Post your signature in your favorite forums or in your website using the appropriate codes.
Manage your signatures as you manage your profile in “My characters” section (Manage character > Customize > Signature).
Website performance improvement
A lot of change have been made on the website to improve its performance, you should feel it. Everything will load faster now!
Bug fixes
- The amount of gold your character has will now be correctly displayed in your profile. You will need to Sync your characters again before it is properly shown.
- The default thumbnail portrait of your character will be updated with every Sync session.
Other updates will be coming up soon; we are going to work on several other features and fixes next.

Patch 2.4.3 + Server update !

The downtime was longer than expected (~4 hours), but the server is now up ! 
This update includes a couple of bug fixes and some improvements.
Statistics
There's still some inaccuracies but we made a significant step forward 
- Druid forms auras are taken into account
- Random enchantments handling
- Most passive effects & talents are handled
Profile
- The bio supports more markup (bold, titles, list ...)
Misc
- The loot tables are ordered by loot probability
- Herbs & Mines are shown correctly in "related" sections
- We added a lot of content filtering and we will continue to improve our filters
Forums
You are now able to link profiles, items, npcs and spells using our new markup !
We will document this new feature quicly, in the mean time, here is an overview

This is just an overview, we will improve this markup, your suggestions are welcome

We patched the WOW channel today !

Magelo Sync
- Added proxy support to Sync's launcher (Sync will use your system's configuration)
- Added download resuming to Sync (it should now work better for all dial-up users)
- Many small bugs were fixed
Profile
- Passive spells are taken into account now (there're still some exception to the rule
 )
- Fixed a bug causing the mystical Whoops error
3D Model
- Off-hand weapons aren't floating anymore
My Guild
- Guild Ranks are not correctly synchronize (all characters' guild rank have been reset, you'll have to synchronize your character to get them back)
Database
- Added many filters to the item search, more to come
- We filtered tons of corrupted items, quest & npcs, we will improve that quickly !
Some of the updates require you to synchronize your characters to update their status (pictures + guild rank).
All these informations are available in the Known issues and Patch notes thread.
Our next focus will be statistics, as many errors are still in the air
